Here is one of the earliest brainstorms of the plot:
Act One
Prologue
Group number singing about something.
Scene 1
Claire and Sam talk with their mom about new school. Claire is an 8th grader, Sam a 6th. Sam goes to bed. Mom leaves Claire. Claire sings about her hopes and fears in this new life. At the end of the song, she reveals her special superpower.
Scene 2
On the first day of school, kids sing, complaining about returning and what they did over the summer. Claire has an interaction with Finn, the cool ‘bad boy’. She earns the respect of Mandy, a popular girl who fills her in on the life at the new school (song).
Scene 3
At home that night, Sam and Claire share how their first day was (duet).
Scene 4
In science class Claire is introduced to her ‘eccentric’ teacher – Ms. Watson (song). Claire is partnered with Finn.
Scene 5
Claire and Finn work together on the science project, secretly battling internal conflicts about their feelings towards each other. Finn leaves and Claire is escatic about her newfound love (reprise of scene 1 solo).
This is good, but I like how it was in the end. I like the names more too. Good job tho Mr.B and the other Mr.B, this must have been hard to write.
Wait…Is the name “Aspasia”, changed to Claire???
no, when they first came up with the play idea it was Claire, but they changed it to Aspasia.
i think that his is really good writing i love what you did to to thought and haveing Aspasia show her power later on. :b
